Something of an Introduction

My presence here has so far been limited to my single obligatory restaurant review, so I thought I would get off the schneid by making an official first non-restaurant-review post.

Everything that the BKoM said in his first post is true. I will add a single interesting tidbit about our relationship. We were friendly neighbors ten years ago in a squalid little college apartment building. When I made my long overdue departure from the college lifestyle into what was to become a failed marriage, we completely lost touch for over ten years. Then late last year I showed up for a tryout presentation (we are trainers) in front of the department I had applied to work in, and who walks up and shakes my hand but the BKoM, who happens to work in the very department whose gates I am attempting to storm? I knew at that moment that destiny had foreordained us to reunite and write a blog about food and assorted bullshit.

Of course it took eight months get started because he had to first think of the idea in response to my whining to him one day at our favorite lunch spot about how frustrating it is to be a non-writing writer. Because I am dutiful lunch-bringer, we established Friday as the day on which we would explore the local restaurant scene. It has already become something we anticipate. Tomorrow we will be visiting our favorite lunch spot (the birthplace of our alliance) in order to lovingly report on it here to you. How nicely meta.

Like my buddy mentioned in a recent post, I am currently in the packing phase of an upcoming move, so I won't be contributing much here on the assorted bullshit side of things until after the move is over. I will make sure I get in my review each week, though, and I will continue hounding him until he finally breaks down and subjects himself to August Rush.
